Public Comment Period Open for Proposed Fare Increases for LINK and ASSIST Bus Service

CASPER, WY – July 28, 2025 – The City of Casper is proposing modest fare increases for LINK and ASSIST bus fares for the first time in over two decades, with the new rates set to take effect on October 1, 2025. The Casper Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) conducted a Casper Area Transit Fare Study in 2024 which was approved by the Casper City Council on September 3, 2024. The study examined current ridership, fare collection costs, and compared current rates to similar transit services in Wyoming and Montana. This fare adjustment is intended to align the City of Casper’s transit costs with those of other surrounding transit agencies and to help offset escalating operational expenses. The fare increase would be applicable to all entities in the MPO area.

The City of Casper’s public comment period will be from August 1, 2025, through September 4, 2025. Feedback from the public will be accepted at public meetings, which are listed below, through email to [email protected], or by mail to: Casper Area Transit, 1715 East 4th Street, Casper, WY 82601. The City of Casper welcomes your comments and will consider them before approval of this fare increase. Please submit all comments by September 4, 2025.
